  • Available Exams: View a complete list of available exams at TEA Programs.
  • Total Duration: Varies by exam (typically 5 hours).
  • ID Required: Valid, government-issued photo ID (The name on your ID must exactly match your registration).
  • Registration: To take an exam, you must first create a TEA Certification account and then complete the registration and payment process.
  • Scheduling: Once you have registered for an exam, you may schedule your test appointment. Test appointments are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • After you schedule your test appointment, you will receive a confirmation email via Pearson Professional Assessments with your appointment date and time, directions to the test center and other details.

When you complete a TExES exam, you don't actually have to "send" the scores yourself.

  • To the TEA: Your results are automatically uploaded to your official certification profile with the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • To Your EPP: If you are enrolled in an Educator Preparation Program (EPP), your scores are automatically reported to them as well.
