HSRT-AD Dental Hygiene Entrance Exam

The Health Sciences Reasoning Test or Dental Hygiene Entrance Exam is a specialized critical thinking assessment required for all applicants to the College of the Mainland Dental Hygiene program. The test measures the reasoning skills necessary for success in health science clinical practice.
Fast Facts: What to Expect
- Format: 33 multiple-choice questions with a 50-minute time limit.
- Attempts: You are allowed two attempts per application cycle.
- Testing Window: Available from the first Monday in March through the Dental Hygiene program application deadline.
- Results: HSRT scores are valid for the current application period.
Appointments must be made in advance through the COM Testing Center portal.

You will receive a printed copy of your scores immediately after finishing the exam and on the Insight Assessment website. Your scores are automatically shared with the Dental Hygiene department.
Note: Scores are only valid for the current application cycle; you must re-test if applying in a future year.
