College of the Mainland provides a secure environment for students and community members to take the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) examinations required for fire service certifications.
Fast Facts: What to Expect
- Eligibility: Candidates must have a current Exam Eligibility Form generated through a TCFP FIDO account before applying.
- The $29 fee is waived for COM students.
- Before scheduling for your exam, pay your TCFP exam fee directly to the Commission through your FIDO account before scheduling your seat at COM.
- Schedule your appointments through the COM online registration system.
- Reference Material: Review the TCFP Certification Curriculum Manual for the specific discipline you are testing for (e.g., Structural Firefighter, Inspector, or Instructor).
- COM Programs: For those needing the required training hours, visit the COM Fire Technology department page.
- Review COM Testing Center policies.
Scores are not printed at the center. Instead, examinees can access their official results by logging into their TCFP FIDO Account.
Results are typically uploaded to the FIDO system within 24–48 hours of exam completion.
