College of the Mainland (COM) marked a milestone on Wednesday, May 6, celebrating the pinning of its first cohort of dental hygiene graduates from the college's dental hygiene program. The cohort of 12 students began the program in fall 2024 and represent COM's support for the expanding workforce and increased access to oral healthcare in our region.

College of the Mainland (COM) is partnering with Hitchcock Independent School District (HISD) to train 65 students as licensed vocational nurses through a Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant totaling $190,769 awarded to HISD by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
