Master Your Math

The Tutoring Center offers free, face-to-face support for all COM math students. From mastering foundational concepts to preparing for advanced exams, our professional tutors help you build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

Our professional math tutors work alongside you to enhance your learning process.

  • Tutors Provide: Feedback on homework, suggestions for note-taking and organization, concept clarification, and guided preparation for quizzes and tests.
  • Tutors Do Not Provide: Complete homework for you, teach new material in place of a professor, or assist during active quizzes or exams.

Success in math requires a proactive approach. Follow these proven strategies:

  • The 2-for-1 Rule: Allocate two hours of independent study for every one hour spent in class.
  • Active Learning: Attend every session, rework homework problems frequently, and seek help the moment a concept becomes unclear.
  • Collaboration: Find a study partner to stay motivated and participate actively in all class discussions.
