Abstract Formatting and Submission Checklist

Group of people looking at a presentation.

PHASE 1: Abstract - Formatting Your Entry

Work to offer your audience an argument and support it with evidence. Ideally, your work, whatever the subject, is contextualized in a researched conversation. Bring something new to an existing discussion or area. Make your argument clear and connect your presentation to the theme in some way.

Before submitting, review the following guidelines to ensure your file is ready for submission. (Please limit your abstract submissions to two per person.)

  • Word Count: Strictly between 150 and 250 words.
  • File Type: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) only.
  • Text & Spacing: Is the text double-spaced using a standard 12-point font (like Times New Roman)
  • Content: Must include a title, author name, argumentative scope, evidence, and a clear link to this year’s theme.
  • Mentor Review: Ensure your faculty sponsor has reviewed your draft.
