To hold a work-study position at College of the Mainland, you must first complete the FAFSA and be determined eligible for federal work-study funding through the Student Financial Services Office. How to Secure Your Position
Students interested in any of the available positions listed below must make an official appointment with the campus Job Placement Specialist:

- Note: Hired students must provide proper identity verification documents (such as a valid Texas Driver's License and Social Security Card) to complete the mandatory work-study onboarding packet.
Core Employment Rules
- Enrollment Status: Hired work-study students must maintain satisfactory academic progress and be enrolled in at least six credit hours during the Fall or Spring semesters.
- Time Tracking and Classes: Student helpers generally work up to 15 hours per week. Under federal law, you are not permitted to work in work-study positions during your scheduled class times.
- Prohibited Academic Work: While work-study employees can assist professors with administrative tasks and research support, they are strictly prohibited from duplicating, proctoring, or grading student tests.
