Texas Public Educational Grant (TPEG) for Workforce Training

The Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) is available to help fund certain non-credit Continuing Education (CE) workforce courses and professional programs. If you are looking to quickly gain specialized career skills, secure an industry certification, or enter a high-demand workforce market, this grant can be applied directly toward your tuition and course fees.

TPEG funding can be applied to approved career, technical, or occupational training courses within the following specialized sectors:

  • Allied Health Pathways: Certified Nurse Aid (CNA), Dental Assistant, Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician, Medical Office/Insurance Specialist, Medication Aid, Phlebotomy Technician, and Sterile Processing Technician.
  • Industrial & Trade Programs: HVAC Technician, Manual Machinist, CNC Machinist, Industrial Pipefitting I & II, Electrical I, Instrumentation I & II, and Welding (Multiple Processes).
  • Mechanical Maintenance: Basic Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Intermediate Mechanical Maintenance Technician, and Advanced Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
  • Logistics & Global Supply Chain: Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) and Certified Logistics Technician (CLT).
  • Public Service Careers: Police Officer and Commissioned Security Officer.
    Specialized Studies & Technical Prep: Cosmetology, Massage Therapy, and Drone Test Prep (through the Gulf Coast Safety Institute).

To qualify for a Continuing Education TPEG award, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Possess a high school diploma from an accredited institution or a verified high school equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Demonstrate clear financial need as determined by student financial records.
  • Complete and submit all institutional and federal application documentation.

How to Apply

  1. Submit Your FAFSA: Complete the online application to establish your financial profile and demonstrate need.

  2. Submit Your Request: File an official, completed Continuing Education TPEG Grant Request Form directly with the Student Financial Services Office.
