At COM Visual Arts, students grow as artists through hands-on studio work, creative exploration, and guided portfolio development. The Associate of Arts in Visual Arts combines affordable training, small classes, scholarship opportunities, art history, drawing, design, painting, ceramics, sculpture, photography, and digital media. You will build technical skill, visual thinking, originality, and critical dialogue while preparing to transfer to a four-year university or school of art. Whether your goal is studio art, art education, design, photography, digital media, museum work, or personal enrichment, COM helps you develop the creative foundation and confidence to keep moving forward.

The Associate of Arts in Visual Arts gives students a strong foundation in studio practice, art history, visual communication, and transfer preparation. Students study drawing, design, art history, painting, ceramics, sculpture, photography, digital media, and related studio courses while developing original work and a transfer-ready portfolio. Through small classes, faculty guidance, scholarship opportunities, and hands-on studio experience, COM Visual Arts helps students build the skill, discipline, confidence, and academic preparation to continue their art studies at a four-year university or art school.
