Exploring musical styles from classical to jazz to modern, musicians reprise the sounds of the centuries. With a COM degree in music, you'll grow as musicians through focused study, guided practice, and performance experience. The Associate of Arts in Music combines affordable training, small classes, scholarship opportunities, ensemble work, and private instruction on your chosen instrument.

You will build a strong foundation in music theory, music literature, ear training, piano, and performance while preparing for transfer to a four-year university. Whether you plan to pursue performance, music education, music therapy, music business, or personal enrichment, COM helps you develop the musicianship, discipline, and confidence to keep moving forward.

The Associate of Arts in Music degree gives students a strong foundation in musicianship, performance, and transfer preparation. Students study music theory, ear training, music literature, ensemble performance, and private applied lessons on their chosen instrument. Through small classes, personal coaching, scholarship opportunities, and performance experience, COM Music helps students develop the skill, discipline, confidence, and academic preparation to continue their music studies at a four-year university or pursue their next step in music.

Careers & Outcomes

An Associate of Arts degree in Music can open the door to a wide range of creative and professional opportunities. Graduates often pursue roles such as performing musicians, private music instructors, church or community ensemble leaders, studio assistants, or entry-level positions in arts organizations, recording studios, and live event production.
