What do you need to apply for the Health Professions program?
- Valid driver's license or government-issued photo ID
- Social security card
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Criminal history report (dated within three months of the start of the program)
- Required immunizations
- Hepatitis B (3 doses). We will also accept a titer showing immunity.
- MMR (2 doses). We will also accept a titer showing immunity.
- Varicella (2 doses). We will also accept a titer showing immunity.
- TDAP (within the last 10 years).
- TB / PPD (within the last year).
- Flu (current seasonal).
Required immunizations:

Every student wishing to apply for a Health Professions program must submit a 10-panel drug screen. This must be dated within 3 months of the program's start.
The 10-panel drug screen must include:
- Cocaine
- Amphetamines
- Marijuana
- Opiates
- Phencyclidine
- Benzodiazepine
- Barbiturates
- Methadone
- Methamphetamines
- Oxycodone
As required by Texas HB 1508, individuals who have been convicted of an offense may be ineligible for issuance of an occupational license upon completion of the educational program:
- Each licensing authority that may issue an occupational license to an individual who completes an educational program must establish guidelines that state the reasons a particular crime is considered to relate to a particular license and any other criterion that affects the decisions of the licensing authority.
- Local or county licensing authorities may issue additional guidelines related to criminal history. Applicants should contact their respective local or county licensing authority for more details.
- A person may request a criminal history evaluation letter regarding personal eligibility for a license issued by a licensing authority under Texas Occupations Code 53.102.
Note: This does not apply to licenses granted by law enforcement officers (Occupations Chapter 1701) or emergency medical services (Health and Safety Code Chapter 773).
