Institutional Advancement

The Office of Institutional Advancement is dedicated to cultivating enduring community ties, elevating the public profile of College of the Mainland, and obtaining essential funding to bolster our students, faculty, and institutional initiatives.
By developing genuine philanthropic alliances with alumni, local industry leaders, foundation partners, and community supporters, we address funding needs beyond state allocations. In close collaboration with the COM Foundation, our department champions the advancement, creative development, and academic distinction of the entire COM family.
Core Impact Areas
The Foundation manages private investments, personal endowments, corporate matching, and alumni gifts. These resources are transformed directly into student scholarships, emergency campus funding, and specialized classroom infrastructure enhancements.
Our team provides comprehensive, centralized support to faculty, staff, and administrators as they pursue external public and private project funding. We guide initiatives from the initial project concept and matching stage to proposal drafting and final submission.
Once external funding is successfully awarded, our centralized compliance division oversees programmatic milestones, financial management guidelines, and regular reporting matrices to guarantee optimal project performance and state compliance.
